
The Kwara State Police Command has arrested two men suspected of assisting kidnappers involved in the abduction of three people in Ifelodun Local Government Area.
The suspects, identified as Sauni Shehu and Auwalu Bala, were apprehended after intelligence-led investigations linked them to the kidnapping of three victims at Ogele Fulani Camp, near Igbaja.
The command’s spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, announced the arrests on Friday, describing them as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle kidnapping networks operating across the state.
According to her, the suspects are being investigated for alleged criminal conspiracy, aiding and abetting kidnapping, as well as direct involvement in the abduction. She added that they are currently providing useful information to investigators as security operatives intensify efforts to track down other members of the suspected criminal syndicate.

Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing aimed at combating kidnapping and other violent crimes. He said the police would continue to pursue all individuals connected to criminal activities while strengthening measures to protect lives and property.
The commissioner also appealed to residents to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information, assuring the public that all intelligence received would be professionally handled to aid ongoing operations against criminal elements across the state.
