
Popular Nigerian singer Kcee has opened up about the challenges he faced in the music industry, revealing that he was often treated unfairly despite his success.
Speaking during a recent interview, the artiste said that for many years, his hard work and hit songs were not properly recognised by award organisers. According to him, this lack of attention and appreciation left him deeply hurt.
Kcee explained that although his music was widely accepted by fans, the same level of recognition did not come from key players in the industry.
He admitted that there were moments he felt ignored, especially when he was not nominated for major awards despite his efforts.
The singer further revealed that the situation affected him emotionally, adding that he once cried because of the pain of being overlooked.

According to him, he now focuses more on the impact of his music and the support he receives from fans across the world.
He stressed that genuine love from listeners means more to him than trophies or nominations.
Reflecting on his career journey, Kcee pointed to the success of his hit song Limpopo as a major turning point.
He described the song as the breakthrough that brought him global recognition after years of hard work.
He also highlighted the recent success of his track Ojapiano, noting that it gained massive attention on social media, especially on TikTok, where it quickly went viral with thousands of users creating content around it.
Kcee said the organic success of his music, both locally and internationally, has strengthened his belief that fan support is more important than industry validation.
He concluded by saying that while awards are important, the real reward for him is the connection he has built with his audience over the years.
