
The Jigawa State Police Command has intensified security measures across the state ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, deploying operatives and activating all operational assets to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free festive period.
In a statement issued in Dutse, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam, said the Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna Yahaya, has directed all Divisional Police Officers, Area Commanders, and tactical units to remain vigilant and professional in the discharge of their duties.
Security personnel, including patrol teams, intelligence operatives, traffic officers, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) units, Police Mobile Force (PMF), and undercover operatives, have been strategically deployed to key locations such as Eid praying grounds, markets, motor parks, highways, and recreational centres.
The Command noted that intelligence gathering, surveillance operations, stop-and-search duties, and confidence-building patrols have been intensified to prevent criminal activities and maintain public order throughout the celebration.
Residents were assured of maximum security before, during, and after the festivities, while the police also emphasized collaboration with other security agencies to strengthen safety measures across the state.

The Command urged members of the public to remain law-abiding and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely information.
Parents and guardians were also advised to caution their wards against reckless behaviours, including dangerous horse riding, substance abuse, and unsafe driving.
Reaffirming its commitment to protecting lives and property, the police assured that no stone would be left unturned in ensuring a safe Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Eid-el-Kabir, also known as Eid al-Adha, is a major Islamic festival marked by prayers, animal sacrifice, and acts of charity in commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to Allah.
