Nigerians have called for justice following the alleged killing of Oderinde Saheed, popularly known as “Seedorf,” by a mob in the Ajia area of Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Saheed was reportedly attacked and set ablaze by an angry mob on August 25 after a road accident in which a pedestrian was allegedly hit.
According to reports, bystanders at the scene accused Saheed of being a “Yahoo boy,” a term commonly used to describe internet fraudsters in Nigeria. The accusation was reportedly made without any formal investigation or evidence establishing that he was involved in cybercrime.
The mob allegedly descended on Saheed, beating him before setting him and his vehicle on fire. He reportedly died at the scene.
Saheed’s younger brother, who was said to have been inside the vehicle during the incident, was also reportedly attacked. He sustained critical injuries and was taken to hospital, where he is said to be receiving treatment.

The incident has generated outrage on social media, with Nigerians using the hashtag #JusticeForOderindeSaheed to demand accountability.
Those calling for justice have condemned the incident as jungle justice, stressing that allegations of wrongdoing should be investigated by law enforcement agencies rather than settled through mob violence.
They have also urged the Nigeria Police Force to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation and ensure that anyone found responsible for the killing is brought to justice.
As of the time of reporting, it was unclear whether any suspects had been arrested over the incident, while no official statement confirming the progress of an investigation had been made public.
