
A young driver, identified as Oderinde Saheed, popularly known as “Seedorf,” has reportedly been killed by a mob in Ibadan, Oyo State, following a road accident.
The incident occurred on August 25, 2026, in the Ajia area of Ona-Ara Local Government Area. Saheed was reportedly involved in an accident during which a pedestrian was allegedly hit.
Following the incident, a crowd gathered at the scene and reportedly accused the young man of being involved in internet fraud, commonly referred to as “Yahoo Yahoo.” The accusation allegedly led to a violent mob attack.
Witnesses said Saheed was severely beaten before the mob allegedly set him and his vehicle ablaze. He reportedly died at the scene from injuries sustained during the attack.
His younger brother, who was said to have been inside the vehicle at the time, was also allegedly attacked by the mob. He reportedly sustained serious injuries and is receiving treatment in hospital.

The incident has sparked renewed concern over cases of jungle justice and mob violence, with calls for security agencies to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killing.
Residents and concerned individuals have urged the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant authorities to identify and prosecute those responsible, while also taking steps to discourage members of the public from taking the law into their own hands.
Authorities have yet to provide an official update on the incident.
