Nigerian gospel singer Adeyinka Adeboye, popularly known as Boye Best, has expressed disappointment over what he described as fake love among gospel ministers.
The singer made the remarks shortly after attending the service of songs held in honour of late gospel artiste Toluwanisings in Ibadan, Oyo State, on Tuesday evening.
The tribute event brought together friends, colleagues and other members of the gospel music community to celebrate the life and legacy of the deceased singer.
Boye Best, who was reportedly a close associate of Toluwanisings, took to his Instagram Story after the event to caution fellow gospel ministers against what he perceived as insincere relationships within the industry.
In a series of posts, the singer warned his colleagues, whom he referred to as “brethren,” not to mistake outward displays of affection for genuine love and support.
“They don’t love you. They don’t, Brethren. So so fake love,” he wrote.

Although Boye Best did not mention anyone by name or provide further details about the alleged insincerity, his comments have drawn attention to the issue of authenticity and relationships among gospel music ministers.
His remarks came at a time when members of the gospel music community had gathered to pay tribute to Toluwanisings, whose death has prompted expressions of grief and tributes from associates and colleagues.
The singer’s statement has also raised questions about the nature of relationships within the gospel entertainment industry and whether public displays of support always reflect genuine concern.
