A fresh bandit attack has left one person dead and four others abducted in Wasagu, a farming community in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The attack reportedly occurred on Wednesday when armed men stormed farmland on the outskirts of the town, where several residents were carrying out farming activities. The assailants allegedly opened fire, killing one victim before abducting four others and fleeing into the surrounding area.
Residents said the latest incident has deepened fear across the community, with many farmers worried about returning to their fields due to the persistent threat of bandit attacks.

Local sources also claimed that dozens of residents from Wasagu and neighbouring communities are still being held captive by criminal groups, a situation that continues to affect farming activities and livelihoods in the area.
Community members expressed concern that the recurring attacks could worsen food production if farmers remain unable to safely cultivate their land.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies had not released an official statement on the incident, while efforts to rescue the abducted victims and track down the attackers were said to be ongoing.
