The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four men suspected of belonging to an armed robbery syndicate allegedly operating in parts of the state.
The suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) following intelligence gathering and surveillance, the police said.
The command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Tuesday through the official X account of the Lagos State Police Command.
The suspects were identified as Damilare Oluwatobi, 28; Lekan Adenuga, 30; Haruna Sheriff, 22; and David Balogun, 24.
According to the police, the four men were arrested at a suspected hideout in Idi-Oro, Mushin, following investigations into alleged criminal activities around the Iju-Ishaga and Oke-Aro areas of Lagos.
Items recovered during a search of the premises included 25 mobile phones, two laptop computers, a gold necklace, earrings and three cutlasses.
The suspects are currently being detained by the police and are assisting investigators as efforts continue to establish their alleged involvement in the reported robberies.

The command also said investigations were ongoing to identify and apprehend other suspected members of the syndicate.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the VCRU operatives for what he described as their intelligence-led operation.
Fatai reiterated the command’s commitment to tackling criminal networks and improving security across Lagos.
He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police through the command’s emergency contact numbers.
