
Operatives of the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) have arrested 10 suspects in a coordinated operation targeting criminal activities across parts of the state.
The suspects were apprehended during weekend raids carried out following intelligence reports linking them to offences including alleged theft, armed robbery, and fraud.
Speaking in Benin City, the Deputy Commander of Operations of the ESSC, Richard Balogun, said the arrests were made as part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to combat crime and enhance public safety.
He explained that security operatives acted on credible information, leading to the successful apprehension of the suspects.

Balogun stated that preliminary investigations indicate that some of the suspects have provided useful information regarding their alleged involvement in the crimes. He added that the security corps remains committed to identifying and apprehending individuals engaged in criminal activities.
According to him, the suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.
He reaffirmed the agency’s zero-tolerance stance on crime, assuring residents that the Edo State Security Corps will continue to collaborate with other security agencies to protect lives and property across the state.
