
Tragedy struck in Benin City, Edo State, after a 30-year-old decorator, Esohe Aigbe, was reportedly hacked to death by suspected attackers shortly after completing decoration work at a funeral venue.
The incident occurred along Ojo Street in the Ogida area of the city, where the victim had gone to assist a friend with decoration arrangements free of charge.

Sources said Aigbe had finished the assignment and was still around the venue when unidentified assailants allegedly attacked her with a machete before fleeing the scene.
Residents and passers-by reportedly rushed to help the injured woman and took her to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, where she was later confirmed dead due to the severity of her injuries.
Confirming the incident, spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command, Eno Ikoedem, said police had launched an investigation into the killing.
According to her, one suspect has already been arrested while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other individuals connected to the attack.
