Residents of Arepo in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State have been thrown into darkness following a fault at a Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) facility.
The disruption was reportedly caused by a shattered insulator on the transmission network. According to the Arepo Area Community Development Council Electricity Committee, TCN maintenance engineers are currently working to fix the fault.
The committee said electricity supply would be restored by Ikeja Electric once the transmission fault is resolved, while assuring residents that it would continue to monitor the repairs and engage relevant authorities.

The latest outage adds to longstanding concerns among Arepo residents over poor electricity supply. Residents had previously complained of prolonged blackouts and inadequate daily power supply despite being placed under Band B.
Residents are now awaiting the completion of the repair work and restoration of electricity to the community.
