Media personality Daddy Freeze has criticized gospel singer and pastor Nathaniel Bassey for failing to heal or raise the late actor Alex Ekubo.
Speaking during an Instagram live session over the weekend, Freeze reacted to Bassey’s account of events at Alex Ekubo’s service of songs last week. The pastor had explained that he was invited by a friend to minister to the actor in the hospital, but Alex died a day before their scheduled visit. Bassey said he still went on the appointed day to pray with the family.
Freeze questioned why Bassey did not use the visit to perform a miracle. He referenced the pastor’s public claims of healing and resurrection, saying the moment presented an opportunity to demonstrate God’s power.

“So we’re sitting down minding our business, and Nathaniel Bassey climbed the pulpit, then he blows the trumpet. Okay, you can signify the trumpet in Revelation, linking with the end of the world. It was the end of Alex’s world, may his soul rest in peace,” Freeze said.
He added, “What happened to all your miracles, healing and your resurrection that you post on your platforms? I would have thought this is an opportunity to show God’s glory.”
The comments have stirred reactions online, reigniting debates about faith, miracles, and public expectations of religious leaders.
