
A mortuary attendant identified as Amaobi has been arrested in Benue State after an incident that left residents in shock and disbelief.
The suspect, who works at a mortuary in Agwabi, Buruku Local Government Area, was reportedly caught in public using a severed human leg as a walking aid.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred on Friday morning when the attendant visited a local shop, drawing attention from passersby who quickly raised alarm.

Concerned youths in the community reportedly intervened, apprehended him, and alerted security authorities.
Operatives of the state police command arrived shortly after and took the suspect into custody.
During interrogation, the mortuary worker allegedly claimed that his actions were intended to draw attention to ongoing challenges at the facility.
He explained that several bodies, reportedly linked to past security operations, had remained unclaimed in the mortuary, creating difficulties for him.
The police have since launched an investigation into the matter, while community members continue to express concern over the disturbing incident.
