Several suspected bandits have been killed during separate security-related incidents in Zamfara and Katsina states, following a joint operation by local vigilantes and a violent clash between rival armed groups.
In Zamfara State, operatives of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) reportedly carried out a clearance operation in Keta community, located in Tsafe Local Government Area, targeting armed groups accused of terrorising residents.
According to security analyst Bakatsine, the operation led to the killing of several fighters believed to be loyal to notorious bandit commanders identified as Kachalla Juli, Uti, and Ibrahim.
The armed groups were allegedly linked to repeated attacks on communities in the area, including killings, looting, and destruction of farmlands.
Bakatsine disclosed the development in a post shared on X on Tuesday, noting that the CJTF operatives engaged the bandits during the operation and successfully neutralised several members of the criminal network.

In a related development, two notorious bandit leaders were reportedly killed during a violent confrontation between rival gangs in Tsarika village, Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The deceased gang leaders were identified as Kachalla Liti and Kachalla Sani.
According to reports, the clash erupted after disagreements among the armed factions, resulting in heavy fighting that left the two commanders dead.
Residents of communities within the Musawa and Matazu axis described the incident as a major setback for criminal groups that have carried out repeated attacks and kidnappings across the area in recent months.
Reacting to the incident, Bakatsine said many locals viewed the internal conflict among the bandits as a positive development in the fight against insecurity in the region.
Security operations against armed groups have intensified across parts of northern Nigeria amid ongoing efforts by local vigilante groups and security agencies to curb banditry, kidnappings, and attacks on rural communities.
