Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued 119 civilians, including 35 women and 15 children, after confronting terrorists who blocked a major road and abducted travellers in Borno State.
The operation, conducted on November 6, 2026, involved troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion, 27 Task Force Brigade, during a surveillance mission along the Dutsen Kura–Bulazarma–Kamuya road.
According to security sources, the troops sighted the terrorists abducting travellers alongside their vehicles and immediately deployed a Special Forces Quick Reaction Force to the scene.
The military teams advanced through the Mangari–Dora route, engaged the attackers and forced them to flee, abandoning the kidnapped victims and their vehicles.
