The Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser Tactical Team, has dismantled a Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist camp in the Kopre Mountain area of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State.
The operation, carried out in the early hours of Wednesday following credible intelligence, reportedly resulted in the death of more than 21 terrorists.
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai engaged the insurgents in two separate encounters during the operation, while several others reportedly escaped with gunshot wounds.
The military also destroyed the terrorists’ logistics facilities and recovered several AK-47 rifles, magazines and a substantial quantity of 7.62mm ammunition from the camp.
Other items destroyed during the operation included motorcycles, bicycles and jerrycans containing Premium Motor Spirit believed to be part of the terrorists’ logistics network.

The Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force, North East, Captain Mohammed Goni, said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to locate and rescue victims abducted from Mussa community and the Lassa area.
Goni said troops would sustain intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling terrorist strongholds, disrupting their logistics and weakening their operational capabilities.
He added that search and rescue operations had been intensified to ensure that all abducted persons were located and rescued.
The military high command commended the troops and the ONSA Tactical Team for their professionalism, resilience and coordination during the operation.
