The Nigerian Army has arrested blogger and social media influencer Justice Mark Chidiebere, popularly known as Justice Crack, for allegedly inciting soldiers and breaching the Armed Forces’ Social Media Policy, the service said at the weekend.
In a statement signed by Acting Director of Army Public Relations Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Army said its attention was drawn to a post by Chidiebere highlighting complaints from soldiers about feeding and general welfare.
While investigating the matter for possible misinformation and policy breaches, preliminary findings showed Chidiebere had engaged soldiers in discussions that “seemed to be inciting soldiers to create discontent within the system,” the statement read.

The Army cited a chat “bothering on subversion” and said a situation where civilians cultivate vulnerable personnel toward subversion “has far-reaching implications on discipline and national security.”
Chidiebere was arrested alongside the soldiers involved. The soldiers remain in military custody, while Chidiebere has been handed over to relevant civil authorities for further investigation and possible prosecution.
“The Nigerian Army remains committed to the rule of law and will continue to collaborate with relevant agencies to ensure justice is served,” the statement added. “We will continue to act within the ambits of the law in safeguarding our sovereignty.”
