The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully carried out a precision air raid on a suspected terrorist stronghold in Katsina State, dismantling a major logistics base and eliminating multiple insurgents.
The operation, conducted on May 1, targeted a strategic enclave located within the Dan-Aji Forest in Faskari Local Government Area.
The mission formed part of ongoing military efforts under Operation Fansan Yamma aimed at curbing terrorist activities in the region.
According to a statement released in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the location served as a critical logistics hub linked to a notorious terrorist leader identified as Abasu Aiki.
The enclave was reportedly being used by fighters operating across several areas, including Faskari, Kankara, and Funtua.
Ejodame disclosed that intelligence reports had earlier revealed renewed terrorist movements and regrouping efforts within the forest, prompting swift military action.

“Air Force surveillance identified armed fighters on motorcycles within the area. A coordinated strike was then executed on the target location,” he said.
Following the operation, a battle damage assessment confirmed that several terrorists were neutralised, while the logistics structures and supply base were completely destroyed.
The airstrike also triggered multiple explosions and widespread fires, further crippling the operational capacity of the group and disrupting their movement and resupply networks.
Military authorities say the success of the mission underscores the Nigerian Air Force’s continued commitment to eliminating terrorist safe havens and weakening their operational structures across the region.
Security operations are expected to continue as the military intensifies efforts to restore peace and stability in affected areas of northern Nigeria.
