
Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected bandit informant during a security operation in Kogi State as part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and banditry in the region.
The suspect was apprehended during a joint operation carried out by soldiers and local vigilantes in Lokoja Local Government Area. Security sources said the operation was conducted while troops were tracking suspected terrorists along a route frequently used by criminal elements within the Adankolo Forest.
According to reports, the suspect was intercepted in the Odo Ape Forest area during the pursuit. Preliminary investigations allegedly linked the individual to a notorious bandit leader known as Kachallah Baccujo, with authorities suspecting that he provided information and support to the criminal network.

Security operatives reportedly recovered two mobile phones from the suspect at the time of his arrest. The devices are expected to aid investigators in uncovering further details about the activities and operations of the group.
Following the arrest, the suspect was handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS) for further investigation and necessary action.
The operation forms part of ongoing security efforts aimed at dismantling terrorist and bandit networks operating within Kogi State and neighbouring areas. Authorities have continued to intensify intelligence gathering and coordinated operations to curb insecurity and prevent criminal groups from establishing strongholds in the region.
