Suspected armed robbers have reportedly attacked several residences occupied by students of Taraba State University (TSU) in the ATC area of Jalingo, Taraba State.
The incident reportedly occurred between 1am and 3am on Monday, September 21, 2026, with the attackers allegedly moving from one student residence to another and stealing phones, laptops, power banks and other valuables.
The affected residences reportedly include Dior Compound, Strawers Villa, Mumbai Compound and 3 Brothers Villa. Other student residences along the Alaba–Agric Gate axis were also said to have been attacked.
According to reports, the suspected robbers allegedly broke doors and windows to gain entry into some residences. Some students reportedly fled into nearby bushes for safety during the attack.

No injuries had been officially confirmed as of the time of reporting, although affected students were said to have suffered material losses and psychological distress.
The incident comes days after suspected armed robbers reportedly attacked the hostels of the School of Nursing and Midwifery in Jalingo.
Students have appealed to TSU management, community leaders and security agencies to strengthen night patrols and security around student residences.
As of the time of filing this report, there was no official statement from the Taraba State Police Command or TSU management confirming the latest attack.
