Youths in communities along the Wukari–Rafin Kada road in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State have apprehended two suspects allegedly planning to carry out an attack in the area.
The development comes amid heightened security concerns following a deadly attack reported along the route last month.
According to reports, the youths intensified community surveillance after receiving information about a possible fresh attack.
Acting on the intelligence, the youths reportedly mobilised and intercepted two suspects before they could allegedly carry out the planned operation.
The suspects were subsequently handed over to relevant security authorities for further investigation.

Residents and motorists using the Wukari–Rafin Kada road have reportedly remained concerned about their safety following previous attacks in the area.
The latest development has also highlighted the role of community members in providing security agencies with information and supporting efforts to prevent criminal activities.
Authorities are expected to investigate the suspects and establish whether they were connected to the alleged planned attack or any previous incidents along the route.
