Two members of a local vigilante group have been killed in a suspected bandit attack in Yelwa village, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident reportedly happened around 9:10 p.m. on Wednesday after security forces received reports of gunshots in the community.
According to a report shared by security analyst Zagazola Makama, troops of Sector 4, Sub-Sector 41, Operation Enduring Peace were deployed to the area following the shooting.
When the troops arrived, they reportedly found two vigilantes dead with gunshot wounds.

The victims were identified as 50-year-old Philibus Maichibi and 60-year-old Pam Alamba.
The suspected attackers had reportedly fled the area before the arrival of the troops.
The soldiers searched nearby areas in an attempt to locate those responsible for the attack but did not encounter the suspects.
Security forces have continued operations in the area as efforts remain ongoing to identify the attackers and prevent further violence in the community.
