
An elderly man identified as Muhammad Bello has been hospitalised after he was knocked down by a vehicle that reportedly fled the scene at Agbowa Community, along the Itoikin Road in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The incident occurred around 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday, prompting a distress call to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
Responders from the agency’s LRT Lion Squad, stationed at Agbowa, arrived at the scene within 10 minutes and found Bello lying by the roadside.

According to LASEMA, the victim sustained severe injuries, including suspected fractures to both legs. He was subsequently evacuated to a hospital for further medical treatment.
The agency urged motorists to obey traffic regulations, maintain their vehicles properly and show responsibility towards other road users.
Members of the public were also advised to promptly report emergencies through the 767 or 112 toll-free lines.
