Troops of the Nigerian Army, operating under Operation Hadin Kai in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested two men suspected of supplying logistics to Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Borno State.
The suspects were arrested on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in the Gumsa area of Mobbar Local Government Area following intelligence on the movement of materials allegedly destined for terrorist elements operating along the Yunusari-Mobbar axis.
According to security sources, troops of 159 Battalion, supported by CJTF operatives, launched a fighting patrol after receiving credible human intelligence. The operation resulted in the interception of the suspected logistics consignment and the arrest of two civilians.
The suspects were identified as Mala Mustapha, 50, and Massa Aliyu, 40, both from Asaye village in Damasak, Mobbar LGA.
Preliminary investigations reportedly revealed that the men had allegedly purchased motorcycle spare parts intended for terrorist elements believed to be operating between the Yunusari and Mobbar areas.

The operation led to the recovery of a large quantity of motorcycle components, including 50 tyres, 10 crankshafts, 50 oil seals, 31 traffic indicators, 49 acceleration cables, 46 clutch cables, 146 chains and sprockets, 80 piston kits and 75 gaskets, among other spare parts.
Security personnel also recovered 145 pairs of footwear, two Tecno Android phones, one small Tecno phone and ₦3,200 in cash.
The suspects and recovered items have since been handed over to the 27 Military Intelligence Regiment (27 MIR) for further investigation and appropriate action.
The arrest is part of ongoing intelligence-led operations by security forces aimed at disrupting the logistics networks that support terrorist groups operating in Nigeria’s North-East.
Military sources said troops remain on heightened alert and are continuing operations to track terrorist elements and their collaborators across the theatre.
