Several suspected terrorists have reportedly been killed following a military air operation targeting an armed group hideout in Yankuzo community, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation was reportedly carried out on Monday evening, September 7, by troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks operating across the state.
According to security sources cited by counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, five military aircraft participated in a coordinated operation over the community.
The aircraft reportedly targeted suspected terrorists in the area, with several fighters killed and others sustaining injuries. However, the exact number of casualties was not immediately confirmed.
One of those reportedly killed was identified as Isiya Gurgu, said to be an associate of a notorious bandit leader, Musa Commander, who has been linked to the Ado Aleru network.
The network has reportedly maintained a presence in several communities around Tsafe, including Tsamiya, where armed groups have allegedly continued to pose security threats to residents.

Sources said the military operation appeared to have been carefully conducted to limit the possibility of civilian casualties. The reported targets were individuals allegedly seen carrying weapons or wearing military-style clothing.
Several other suspected terrorists were also reportedly wounded in the strikes.
Yankuzo has been identified as one of the areas where armed groups linked to the Ado Aleru network have maintained a presence, with residents facing recurring security challenges.
Further assessment by the military is expected to provide more details on the casualties and the outcome of the operation.
