Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS), have arrested a suspected kidnapper in Nasarawa State and rescued an abducted victim in Benue State during separate intelligence-led operations.
According to the task force, troops from Sector 2 apprehended a suspected kidnapper identified as Adamu Lamu at Agyaragu, Nasarawa State, on September 4.
The arrest followed an alert from a 31-year-old kidnapping victim, Nehemiah Elisha, who reportedly escaped from his abductors and later recognised Lamu at a market in the area.
Elisha immediately informed security personnel deployed nearby, prompting troops to move in and arrest the suspect.
Lamu was subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Meanwhile, in Benue State, troops of the COAS Intervention Battalion XI rescued a kidnapped man identified as Vincent Nyado on September 6.

Nyado was reportedly found tied and abandoned along the Umene–Torkula Road. The suspected terrorists allegedly fled into the surrounding bushes after sighting the approaching troops.
The rescued victim was secured by the troops, while efforts were launched to obtain useful information that could assist in tracking down the fleeing suspects.
Operation WHIRL STROKE urged residents in the affected areas to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to help combat kidnapping, terrorism and other criminal activities across the region.
