The Ondo State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the deaths of three siblings whose bodies were discovered on their father’s farm in Akure, the state capital.
The victims were identified as 11-year-old twins, Joshua and Jacob Jonah, and their five-year-old sister, Blessing Jonah.
The children reportedly accompanied their father, Samuel Jonah, to his farm around the Owena Army Barracks area of Akure on Friday, September 4, 2026. While their father remained on the farm to continue working, the children reportedly left for home.
However, when their father later returned home, he discovered that the children were missing. A search was launched by the family, leading to the discovery of their bodies on Saturday, September 5, near the bank of a small river within the farm.

The circumstances surrounding the deaths remain unclear, with the cause yet to be established.
Confirming the incident, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the command was investigating the incident to determine what led to the deaths.
Jimoh disclosed that the bodies had been taken by their father for burial, while the police continued documenting the incident and investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
The incident has left residents of the Oke Ogba community in mourning as the police work to unravel the mystery surrounding the deaths of the three siblings.
