Troops have rescued an 11-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted by suspected terrorists for a surveillance mission in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
The girl, identified as Aisha Mustafa, was rescued at about 1:41 a.m. on September 4, 2026, during a routine patrol around the Armuda general area.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, preliminary investigations indicated that Aisha was among three people allegedly taken from Mountain Village of Saha by two suspected terrorists.
The abductors were reportedly planning to use the victims to monitor the activities and movements of troops deployed around Ngoshe.
Makama said Aisha ran towards the soldiers after sighting them during the patrol and surrendered to the troops.

The other two individuals reportedly escaped towards the village as the troops approached.
Following her rescue, Aisha is currently receiving necessary assistance while efforts are being made to reunite her with her family.
The development comes amid ongoing military operations aimed at countering terrorist activities and protecting communities in parts of Borno State.
Security personnel are expected to continue patrols and surveillance operations across the area to prevent further attacks and protect residents.
