An improvised explosive device (IED) detonated under a military patrol vehicle in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State, damaging the vehicle but causing no casualties.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 6:50 a.m. on Friday, September 4, along the Ihite Ukwa–Health Centre axis.
According to security sources, troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade encountered the explosive device while conducting a routine patrol in the area.
The blast reportedly damaged the front-right fender of the Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle.

Despite the explosion, no death or injury was recorded among the troops.
Security operations have continued in the area following the incident, while efforts are ongoing to secure the route and prevent further attacks.
The incident comes amid ongoing security operations aimed at curbing attacks and maintaining stability across parts of Imo State.
