The Hisbah Command in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State has arrested a man over an alleged illicit relationship with his former wife, who is now married to another man.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued by the agency’s spokesperson, M. Maidoki.
According to the statement, the woman reportedly left her matrimonial home after telling her current husband that she was going to retrieve her mobile phone, which had been taken to a charging centre.

However, she was allegedly found meeting her former husband at a secluded location, a development that reportedly raised concerns and prompted the intervention of Hisbah officials.
The agency said investigations carried out under the supervision of the Dutsinma Hisbah Commander, Malam Shafiu Ibrahim, established that the man was indeed the woman’s former husband.
Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the meeting and the allegations against the suspect.
The Hisbah Command has not disclosed further details regarding possible charges or sanctions as investigations continue.
