The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recovered a stolen white pick-up vehicle during an early-morning operation in Abuja and handed it over to the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation.
The vehicle, with registration number YAB 677 XD, was recovered at about 3am on Sunday, August 23, by the Tow Truck Team of the RS7.1 FCT Sector Command along the expressway leading to Berger in the Wuye area.
FRSC Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, said the recovery was made possible by the vigilance of personnel on duty.
According to him, the officers discovered the vehicle’s original documents inside and used a telephone number contained in the documents to contact the purported owner, who was subsequently informed about the recovery.
Following the discovery, the FCT Sector Commander, Corps Commander Tijjani Iliyasu, invited the FCT Police Command to take custody of the vehicle and investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged theft.

The Deputy Corps Commander, Operations, Sabitu Abdu, formally handed over the vehicle to CSP Nuhu Usman, who received it on behalf of the FCT Commissioner of Police.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, commended the officers for their alertness and professionalism and called for stronger collaboration between the FRSC, police and other security agencies.
FRSC also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious vehicles and activities to security authorities.
