
Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested 29 suspects during raids on locations identified as suspected “black spots” in Yola, the state capital.
The operation was carried out by personnel of the Yola Area Police Command under the leadership of the Area Commander, ACP Grace Sanda, following a directive from the Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar Hassan.
The police commissioner had ordered Divisional Police Officers across the state to intensify efforts to dismantle locations allegedly being used for criminal activities.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the operation led to the recovery of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, tramadol capsules and wraps of suspected illicit substances.
Police also recovered pipes, lighters, bottles and other materials believed to be associated with the consumption and distribution of illicit drugs.
Nguroje said the 29 suspects remained in police custody as investigators worked to determine their individual roles and identify other persons allegedly connected to the activities uncovered during the raids.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to tackling criminal activities and illicit drug use across Adamawa State, while urging residents to provide useful information that could assist security agencies in maintaining peace and safety.
