
Troops of the Joint Task Force North-East under Operation HADIN KAI have recorded major operational successes, including the rescue of abducted victims, repelling of a terrorist attack, and the arrest of suspected logistics suppliers aiding insurgents across the region.
This was disclosed in an official statement by the Acting Military Information Officer, Captain Mohammed Goni.
According to the military, troops of the 115 Task Force Battalion successfully rescued two abductees during a search-and-rescue mission conducted in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State on July 7.
The operation also led to the recovery of ₦1.2 million suspected to be proceeds of criminal activities, alongside food supplies and other logistics believed to support terrorist operations.
The rescued victims have since been evacuated to a secure facility where they are receiving medical attention and psychosocial support.
In a separate development, troops stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Logomani, Ngala Local Government Area, repelled a coordinated attack by suspected ISWAP fighters. Although the insurgents briefly breached part of the base’s defensive perimeter, the troops regrouped and forced them to retreat, inflicting casualties.

However, the military confirmed the loss of one soldier during the encounter, while two gun trucks and other combat equipment were damaged.
Further operations across the region yielded additional results. Troops of the 232 Battalion, acting on credible intelligence, arrested a suspected criminal in Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State, recovering an AK-47 rifle, two magazines, and 28 rounds of ammunition.
Similarly, troops of the 149 Battalion apprehended two suspected terrorist logistics suppliers in Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State. Items recovered included cash, a Volkswagen Golf vehicle, construction materials, and household supplies allegedly intended for insurgents.
In Wulgo, troops of the 24 Task Force Brigade, supported by the Civilian Joint Task Force, recovered a sack containing assorted illicit drugs during a clearance operation after suspected terrorists fled the area.
The military also revealed that six suspected ISWAP members, alongside their families, surrendered to troops in Gwoza Local Government Area. Recovered items from the group included ₦1.541 million and mobile phones.
Additionally, troops intercepted suspected logistics suppliers at Molai checkpoint in Borno State and in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State, recovering medical supplies and motorcycle tyres believed to be destined for terrorist groups.
The military emphasized that these coordinated operations are part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt supply chains, rescue victims, and sustain pressure on insurgents across the North-East.
