A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has ordered the remand of three suspects for 60 days over the alleged murder of a former Ogun State Television (OGTV) staff member, Mrs. Olakitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo.
The suspects—Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip (22), Abduraheem Sakirudeen (27), and Sobur Obafunso (30)—were arraigned before Magistrate Court 3, Isabo, Abeokuta, in connection with the gruesome incident that occurred on June 20, 2026, at Agodo Village, Kobape area of the state.
According to police reports, the principal suspect, Philip, allegedly recruited the other two suspects—believed to be cult members—to carry out the attack.
The motive for the crime was reportedly linked to a dispute over unpaid salary arrears during Philip’s time as a security guard for the deceased.
The suspects were later apprehended by law enforcement authorities and are said to have confessed to committing the crime, claiming they intended to “teach her a lesson.”

Abiodun explained that the application, dated July 6, 2026, was made in line with Section 306 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Ogun State, 2017.
He noted that the request was supported by a 24-paragraph affidavit, 17 exhibits, and a written address submitted by the prosecution.
The court, presided over by Chief Magistrate O.T. Odubanjo, granted the application and ordered that the suspects be held at the Nigerian Correctional Service facility for an initial period of 60 days.
The remand is to allow for the issuance of legal advice by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the eventual arraignment of the suspects before a court of competent jurisdiction.
The case has been adjourned to September 10, 2026, for mention.
