Czechia head coach Miroslav Koubek has resigned from his position following the country’s disappointing exit from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Czech side finished at the bottom of Group A with just one point from three matches against Korea Republic, South Africa and Mexico, ending their campaign in the tournament at the group stage.
Koubek, 74, was appointed shortly before Czechia’s World Cup qualifying play-offs. Under his leadership, the team secured dramatic penalty shootout victories over the Republic of Ireland and Denmark, earning their first World Cup appearance in two decades.
