
Twelve countries have officially been eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup following the latest round of group-stage matches, with four more teams set to miss out before the knockout phase begins.
The latest nations to exit the tournament are Iraq, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand after failing to secure places in the Round of 32.
Senegal produced one of the standout performances of the group stage, thrashing 10-man Iraq 5-0 to finish third in Group I. Belgium also ended New Zealand’s campaign with a commanding 5-1 victory.

Uruguay’s hopes were dashed after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Spain, while Saudi Arabia bowed out despite earning a goalless draw against Cape Verde, a result that proved insufficient for qualification.
With the final group-stage fixtures nearing completion, a total of 16 teams will ultimately be eliminated before the tournament progresses to the knockout rounds.
