Morocco’s midfielder Ismael Saibari made World Cup history on Wednesday night, becoming the first African player since Asamoah Gyan in 2010 to score three goals in a single tournament.
The 25-year-old PSV star sealed the record during Morocco’s 4-2 win over Haiti at Atlanta Stadium. His strike against Haiti completed a run of scoring in all three group matches, a feat no other African player has achieved at the World Cup, according to OptaJoe.
Saibari opened his account against Scotland before netting again versus Brazil. His consistency in front of goal has been one of the standout stories for Morocco so far in the 2026 tournament.

The result saw Morocco finish second in Group C with seven points from three matches, level with group leaders Brazil on points but behind on goal difference. The Atlas Lions now turn their focus to the Round of 32, where Saibari will look to extend his scoring streak.
His performances have quickly made him one of Morocco’s key players, blending creativity in midfield with a growing reputation as a clinical finisher on the world stage.
