US President Donald Trump will attend the 2026 World Cup final in New Jersey on July 19 and present the trophy to the winning team, FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed on Tuesday.
Infantino made the announcement during an appearance on Fox and Friends, saying the two would jointly hand over the trophy to the champions. “We will be together with the president enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner, of course, together,” he said.
The FIFA president has built a close working relationship with Trump, previously presenting him with a newly created FIFA peace prize at the World Cup draw in Washington last year.
