
Suspected bandits attacked Unguwar Magaji community in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Wednesday, killing nine people and injuring eleven others.
Joseph Yonkpa, spokesperson for the Irigwe Youth Movement, confirmed the incident. Initial reports stated that two people were killed, but further search and recovery operations uncovered seven more bodies, raising the death toll to nine.
According to Yonkpa, the attackers used firearms during the assault and targeted children with machetes, leaving residents traumatized.
The victims killed were identified as Jerry Doctor, Danlami Magani, Sunday Chibi, Rita Abdullahi, Sunday Elkan, Esther Kefas, Happy Friday, Moses Daddy, and Daddy Ibrahim.

Those injured include Halla Monday, Mary Yohanna, Jummai John, Charity Danjuma, Faith Yakubu, Omi Yakubu, Ali Sandiye, Asabe Victor, Srarina Simon, Talatu Sunday, and ThankGod Danladi.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kaduna State Police Command had not issued a statement on the attack.
Communities across Kaduna State have faced repeated bandit attacks in recent months, with several incidents resulting in deaths and kidnappings.
