The Hunters Group of Nigeria has accused police officers in Yobe State of allegedly assaulting one of its members, leaving him injured and in need of medical attention.
In a statement released on Thursday, the group said the incident occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on June 4, 2026. It claimed the hunter was attacked by police officers without any provocation or known offence.
According to the group, the victim was badly beaten and sustained injuries that made it difficult for him to walk without support. It also alleged that the officers later took him to the hospital after noticing the seriousness of his condition.
