The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted 380 rounds of military-grade ammunition and arrested multiple suspects during coordinated operations in Kaduna State and other parts of Nigeria.
In Kaduna, NDLEA operatives on patrol along the Abuja–Kaduna expressway at Jere arrested a 30-year-old suspect, Sunusi Musa, who was allegedly transporting 380 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition to Katsina State.
The ammunition was recovered during the interception, and the suspect has since been handed over to the relevant security agency for further investigation.
In another operation within Kaduna’s Gonin Gora area, NDLEA officers arrested a couple, Musa Sunday and Mercy Sunday, along with another suspect, Salomi Ezekiel, aged 38.
The suspects were linked to the discovery of 100 jumbo bags of skunk cannabis, weighing about 1,246 kilograms, recovered from a residential property.

The agency also reported other major drug seizures across the country. In Lagos, officers uncovered illicit drugs hidden inside water purifier machines shipped from the Netherlands, including ketamine and MDMA (ecstasy), which were seized at a courier facility.
In Niger State, operatives recovered 457 kilograms of skunk from a warehouse in Bosso Local Government Area, with one suspect later arrested in connection with the seizure.
Similarly, in Enugu State, NDLEA officers intercepted a commercial vehicle on the Onitsha–Enugu expressway heading towards Taraba State. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of tramadol tablets, pentazocine injections, and bromazepam, with one suspect taken into custody.
The NDLEA said the operations reflect its ongoing nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking and illicit arms movement, combining enforcement efforts with public sensitisation campaigns.
The agency’s Chairman, Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa (retd.), praised officers involved in the operations and urged continued commitment to tackling drug-related crimes and strengthening national security.
