
The Nasarawa State Police Command has arrested two suspects and recovered a firearm, stolen mobile phones, and other items during an operation in Keffi Local Government Area of the state.
The incident occurred on May 30, 2026, when a resident of Kofar Hausa, Keffi, reported that his room had been unlawfully entered and his Android phone stolen by one of the suspects.
Acting on the complaint, police detectives launched an intelligence-led investigation that led to the arrest of two suspects identified as Shafiu Abdul-Rauf and Usman Abdulmumuni in the Mayanka area of Keffi.

A search conducted during the operation resulted in the recovery of a locally made pistol loaded with a live cartridge, three mobile phones, two cutlasses, a knife, a bunch of keys, and other items suspected to be connected to criminal activities.
Police authorities said the recovered phones included two Tecno Android devices and an Itel mobile phone. The suspects were subsequently taken into custody for further investigation.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Ramhan Nansel, said investigators are working to determine whether the suspects are linked to other criminal activities within and outside Keffi.
He added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended the officers involved in the operation for their swift response and professionalism.
The commissioner also urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with credible information, stressing that community cooperation remains vital in the fight against crime across the state.
Police said investigations are ongoing and that appropriate legal action will be taken upon their conclusion.
