
At least four people have been killed following a fresh bandit attack on Dugul community in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The attackers reportedly stormed the village in the early hours of Monday, firing sporadically and causing panic among residents. The assault left four villagers dead, while many others fled the community to escape the violence.
The incident was made public by security analyst Bakatsine in a post shared on X, where he expressed concern over the recurring attacks on rural communities in the state.
According to the post, the gunmen invaded the community at dawn and opened fire on residents before escaping from the area.

The identities of the victims were yet to be confirmed as of the time this report was filed.
The latest attack has heightened fear among residents of Matazu and surrounding communities, many of whom have continued to live under the threat of banditry, kidnappings and deadly raids.
Local residents have called on security agencies and government authorities to intensify efforts to protect vulnerable communities and prevent further attacks across Katsina State.
Security operatives were reportedly deployed to the area after the incident, although authorities had yet to release an official statement regarding the killings.
