
Rangers International have been crowned champions of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League after a 2-1 win over Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on Sunday.
The victory secured a record-extending ninth league title for the Enugu side. Under coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, Rangers started strongly and took the lead in the 30th minute through Chidiebere Nwobodo.
Nwobodo doubled the advantage 10 minutes into the second half, putting the visitors in firm control. Ikorodu City, who needed a win to boost their chances of continental qualification, pulled one back through Moses Ali two minutes before the hour mark but could not find an equalizer.

Elsewhere, Rivers United finished second in the table after a 3-0 home win over Katsina United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. Chijioke Mbaoma scored twice for the Pride of Rivers, with Aniekeme Okon adding the third.
