
Security operatives under Operation HADIN KAI, in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested a 15-year-old boy suspected of involvement in terrorist activities in Gubio town, Borno State.
The arrest was carried out on May 14 at about 1:20 p.m. during a coordinated joint operation aimed at tracking and intercepting insurgent elements operating within the area.
According to security sources and a post shared on X by counter-insurgency analyst Zagazola Makama, the suspect, identified as Umar Zacharria, hails from Jere Local Government Area of Borno State.

Preliminary reports indicate that the teenager allegedly confessed to being part of a group responsible for attacks targeting motorists along the Kareto axis, a known hotspot for insurgent activity.
Authorities further disclosed that the suspect is currently in military custody and is undergoing detailed interrogation to determine the extent of his involvement and to identify possible links with other members of the network.
Security officials say investigations are ongoing as efforts continue to dismantle remaining insurgent cells in the region.
