
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have successfully neutralised two suspected terrorists during a coordinated night ambush operation in Borno State.
The operation, carried out by personnel of B Company, 144 Battalion (Motorised), reportedly took place around 8:45 p.m. on Saturday in the Kaffin Hausa area.
According to security sources, the troops had strategically laid an ambush as part of ongoing counter-insurgency efforts when they encountered the terrorists, resulting in a brief but intense exchange of gunfire.
At the end of the operation, two of the terrorists were killed, while others fled the scene with gunshot wounds.

The troops also recovered two AK-47 rifles from the location of the encounter, further weakening the operational capacity of the group.
Notably, no casualties were recorded among the soldiers. However, a wounded individual of yet-to-be-identified identity was observed during the operation.
Military authorities confirmed that follow-up operations are ongoing, with troops combing the surrounding area to track down fleeing insurgents and gather additional intelligence.
The latest development underscores the continued efforts of Nigerian military forces to curb insurgency and restore security in the North-East region.
