Arsenal legend Paul Merson has expressed sadness over Pep Guardiola’s departure from England, describing the Manchester City manager as an irreplaceable figure in the Premier League.
Merson made the remarks in his column for Sportskeeda ahead of City’s final league game of the season against Aston Villa on Sunday. The match at the Etihad Stadium will mark Guardiola’s last in charge of the club after a decade-long spell that transformed Manchester City into a dominant force in English football.

“This will also be Pep Guardiola’s last game for Manchester City,” Merson wrote. “He’s an absolute legend, and I’m really sad to see him leave England. No doubt that he will be a big miss for the Premier League.”
Guardiola’s exit brings an end to a 10-year era that saw City win multiple league titles and establish themselves as one of Europe’s top sides.
