
Residents of Odo-Eri community in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State were thrown into panic on Wednesday night after suspected gunmen invaded the area and abducted two individuals.
The attack reportedly occurred around 9:00 p.m. on May 20, 2026, as armed assailants stormed the community, causing widespread fear and forcing residents to flee for safety.
According to local sources, the victims include a Fulani man identified as Bube and one of his cattle rearers, both of whom were taken during the operation.
The incident has further heightened security concerns in the region, coming less than 48 hours after intelligence reports warned of a possible attack.

Earlier alerts indicated that armed groups were seen moving from the Babanla Forest in neighboring Kwara State into parts of Yagba West through the Okoloke bush path.
Communities including Ejiba, Odo-Eri, and Egbe have since been placed on high alert, with residents urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements to security agencies.
As of the time of this report, there has been no official statement from security authorities, and efforts to rescue the abducted victims remain unclear.
