Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed delight after helping Celtic secure the Scottish Premiership title, saying the “god of soccer” played a role in the club’s dramatic victory.
Celtic came from behind to defeat Hearts 3-1 at Celtic Park on Saturday, sealing another league triumph after an intense title race that kept fans on edge until the closing stages of the season.
Iheanacho, who was introduced in the second half, made a strong impact as Celtic increased the pressure on Hearts. The Nigerian forward nearly scored after hitting the post during the thrilling encounter.
Speaking after the match, the former Leicester City striker admitted the victory felt unbelievable because many supporters had feared the title was slipping away.

“I’m so happy today. At some point, everyone thought we had lost it, but the god of soccer was on our side today and we won,” Iheanacho said.
“We fought till the end and I’m really happy with this victory.”
Hearts had taken the lead in the first half through Lawrence Shankland before Celtic responded late in the game.
Arne Engels equalised from the penalty spot after a handball decision, while Daizen Maeda completed the comeback with a crucial goal that was confirmed after a VAR review.
Callum Osmand later added a third goal to wrap up the victory and spark celebrations among Celtic supporters.
Reflecting on the season, Iheanacho described the campaign as one of the craziest of his career, saying it deserved to be turned into a documentary because of the drama involved.
“This season has been crazy. It should be on a documentary. But at the end, God crowned us with victory,” he added.
The 29-year-old also praised Celtic fans for their support throughout the season and urged them to enjoy the title success.
Celtic’s triumph secured a fifth straight Scottish Premiership title and further extended their dominance in Scottish football. Iheanacho finished the campaign with important contributions despite struggling with injuries during parts of the season.
The Glasgow club will now focus on the Scottish Cup final as they aim to complete a domestic double.
