Preliminary findings suggest that the recovered items may be linked to possible illegal diversion of military ammunition materials. Investigators also indicated that the suspect could be connected to a serving soldier at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri, who is alleged to have removed warheads from live rounds and diverted the empty casings for illicit purposes.
The suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue to determine the full extent of the alleged network and how the materials were obtained.
Security authorities have assured that further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
